Scootering has been in the skate parks for just under a decade. The growing professional scooter riding has impacted skate parks forever. Pro scootering can be such a fun and learning sport for new riders (or even anyone). The question that we all have here are "is scootering a sport?". As a former professional scooter rider i will have to agree with the majority of people that can say skateboarding and BMX has been more impactful to young kids that are looking for a new sport/hobby. But with the X games ( the Super Bowl of extreme sports) bringing professional scootering into the games it goes to show how far the sport has come. With the introduction to skateboarding into the 2021 Olympics I believe that by the year of 2034 there might be an introduction of professional scooter riding. The way this sport has progressed through its early year has gained the attention of a lot of people. Growth of the sport The growth of the sport has came a very long way. I can vividly remember the first time seeing my favorite scooter rider Ryan Williams doing a 180 half cab Buttercup on YouTube right then and there we were blown away and astonished by the possibility of the sport . The next day we went to target to purchase our first professional scooter and the rest is history. The way the sport changed my childhood will forever bring great memories, going to the skate park for hours riding around and learning new tricks with friends will always be an amazing time. Back in 2014 when I first started Riding there used to be very few scooter riders at the skate parks but Nowadays with the growing culture of the sport the Scooter community. The way the professional scooter riding sport has time in time again progressed throughout the years goes to show that there is so much room for growth with scooter riding and the tricks that Seem impossible could be possible. I remember seeing tricks done in 2015 that looks far too plateaued for the extreme sport for the time, but now in 2021 people are doing those tricks with ease. The way scootering has impacted kids will forever change a child's childhood memory's. I remember riding my small foldable razor scooter around the neighborhood and having the time of my life. Even though I wasn't doing freestyle scooter tricks, I still was impacted by this hobby and with the growing interests kids have with riding scooters they're bound to keep growing as a sport. The competitive side of the sport is very intense. Riders from around the world compete year round at different professional competitions throughout the world. Dante Hutchinson just recently earned his first world title and has taken his scooter career to the next level by making a full income playing the sport he loves. There has been time and time again proven that this sport has grown substantially. With riders being sponsored frequently shows how much the sport is maturing in the sense of advancements. Ryan Williams is one of the most talented scooter riders in the world and has a sponsorship with one of the most famous energy drinks in the world (Red Bull). Everyday riders are being given the opportunity to ride for professional teams. With brands like Lucky, Envy , Mgp, Etc. there has been given a lot of opportunity's for professional riders to expand there horizon in the sense of riding and to progress at the sport. With all this being said it goes to show how far the sport has really advanced. So the big question is "Is Scootering a sport?". Yes scootering is a sport because it has competitions that are scored and a whole diverse community that supports it every day.
